To better understand the task that the United Nations Program for Development (UNDP) carries out all over the World, the Human Development Index is calculated and used a yardstick that measures the advancement that is attained in terms of the improvement of living conditions.
In this regard, Human Development can be defined as the process by which a society improves the living conditions of its citizens through the increase of goods with which basic and non-basic needs can be met; and the creation of an environment that is conducive to the respect of human rights.
