The consolidation of a state of law, respect for human rights, strengthening of civil rights and democratic institutions, respect for cultural identity, the rights of indigenous communities and sustainable economic growth are the critical goals that must be reached in order to eradicate poverty and improve the quality of life of the Guatemalan people.
With the purpose of following up and analyzing detailed information that evaluating institutions present regarding the advancements that Guatemala has had on the previously mentioned elements, FUNDESA monitors yearly, the results that Guatemala obtains in each of the 17 indicators that compose the Millennium Challenge Corporation –MCC- . It’s upon these indicators that a detailed selection process is carried out in order to support countries by means of aid programs such as, the Compact Program or the Threshold Program.
