The IPRI Index is a comparative study on the importance that the protection of property rights has on the economic development of countries.

It seeks to research the positive effects that the protection of physical and intellectual property rights (this includes a strong legal and political framework), has on the economy of a country.

Its hypothesis is based upon the assumption that there exists a strong correlation between the protection of private property rights and the economic development of a nation.
