According to the guidelines that direct the work done by researchers, intellectuals, professionals, entrepreneurs and the general public involved in the production of the Index of Economic Freedom: “The Index of Economic Freedom has documented the link between economic opportunity and prosperity based upon research and analysis done over the last 15 years”.
Published jointly by The Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal, this index has created a global description of economic freedom and has established a point of reference from where it is possible to measure the possibilities that a country has of reaching success in economic terms.
The findings presented by the index are clear and concise: “The countries whose commitment to economic freedom is enduring enjoy a higher level of prosperity than those who have a lesser degree of commitment to economic freedom”.
